VERSA-LOK Introduces VERSA-Grid 1.5 Geogrid for Segmental Retaining Walls

VERSA-LOK Retaining Wall Systems has introduced a new version of its popular VERSA-Grid synthetic geogrid that’s designed for use with segmental retaining walls up to 6 feet in height. VERSA-Grid 1.5 is lighter weight than VERSA-Grid 3.0, 5.0 and 8.0 products and comes in convenient 4-ft. x 50-ft. rolls.

VERSA-Grid 1.5 is made from high-tenacity, multifilament polyester fibers and has no memory, so it lays flat. It has bidirectional strength, which allows it to be installed either perpendicular or parallel to the wall face when geogrid lengths of 4 feet or less are specified. Lengths longer than 4 feet must be laid perpendicular to the wall face only.

“This new line of VERSA-Grid 1.5 is ideal for the landscape contractor and advanced do-it-yourselfer,” says Keith Miller, VERSA-LOK engineer. “The smaller roll sizes are well-suited for low walls that require some soil reinforcement, and they’re easier to handle as well.”

VERSA-Grid 1.5 is installed in the same fashion as other VERSA-Grid products. Detailed installation guidelines for use with VERSA-LOK Standard and VERSA-LOK Mosaic retaining walls are included with each roll of VERSA-Grid 1.5, along with helpful pre-engineered estimating illustrations.
