The model shown is an example of the MDF 36 hydrant in direct bury installation (DB) and green powder-coated standard steel w/ optional locking cover  This hydrant is also available in stainless steel (SS).  The hose bibb is 36 inches above grade.

The direct bury installation is designed to be buried 14 inches with the steel supports anchored in concrete. Attached valve boxes are standard on all MDF 36 direct bury installations only.

The surface mount installation (SM, not shown) is designed to be anchored to a concrete pad with anchor bolts through a mounting plate that is welded to the hydrant. An optional 6" stainless steel surface carrier is recommended for all pedestal surface mount installations. Most Dependable Fountains recommends specifying the optional SS Bolt Kit 1 when not ordering the optional stainless steel surface carrier.

The supply and waste connections stop above grade behind the access door.  Access doors are standard on all MDF 36 surface mount installations only.
