The model shown is an example of the Model 840 SMSS-02 HiLo Sand-Free Pedestal Drinking Fountain in surface mount installation and stainless steel. Stainless steel fountains are powder coated for added protection. The chrome matte oven baked powder coat is the default color provided no other color is specified at the time of order. Most Dependable Fountains recommends the stainless steel model (SS) for beach applications.

The Sand-Free Drinking Fountain is the only trough drinking fountain that can drain internally to a dry well for pea gravel installation (specify Model 840 SMSS-01) or to an external floor drain (specify Model 840 SMSS-02, shown). There is no bowl, no strainer and no drain line to stop up, making this drinking fountain ideal for beach areas.

The surface mount installation (SM) is designed to be anchored to a concrete pad with anchor bolts through a mounting plate that is welded to the fountain. An optional stainless steel surface carrier is recommended for all pedestal surface mount installations. Most Dependable Fountains recommends specifying the optional SS Bolt Kit 1 when not ordering the optional stainless steel surface carrier.

The supply connection stops above grade behind the access door. Access doors are standard on all pedestal 800 Series drinking fountains.
