Building Better with Amvic
|
|
As Seen at the AIA
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are
revolutionizing modern homes and commercial
construction and rapidly changing the way we
build. Amvic's Building System with FormLock
technology is leading this revolution by providing
the highest quality and performance ICF on the
market.
Amvic ICFs are designed with 2.5 inches of
1.5lb/cf density expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam
on both sides of a form containing 8 uniquely
designed polypropylene webs. They are spaced 6
inches on center compared to 8 inches on center in
most competing products. Amvic webs also have a
uniquely designed rebar holding system that
eliminates the need for tie downs and places the
rebar at the most effective places to ensure
superior structural strength - in fact, Amvic's
insulated pre-cast concrete form panel is the
strongest on the market, as proven by the Canadian
Construction Material Center (CCMC) forming
capacity strength test.
Amvic recently conducted an industry leading
third party LEED Product Assessment which proved
that using Amvic ICF can result in up to 28 points
towards a structure's LEED certification. Amvic is
the only manufacturer on the market that has a
conducted a third party assessment which verifies
this in a LEED Assessment Report.

Construction Specification Institute

The Construction Specification Institute has a
rather humorous podcast series entitled "How Not
To Screw Up", which features industry pros sharing
real life stories on best practices learned the
hard way. Not surprisingly, the series has become
one of the site's most popular podcasts.
