Simulated Stone Products

Prime Building Material
Simulated stone was originally developed as a material for restoring old structures where the natural stone was deteriorating.  Since its first development, it has quickly gained widespread industry acclaim as a durable and attractive alternative to natural cut building stone. In high demand due to its low cost and upscale appearance, simulated stone has been considered prime building material for many, many years.  Used in the production of house exteriors, wall systems, floors, fireplaces, retaining walls and a wide array of other products and applications, simulated stone is practical, affordable, and looks great. Read on to learn more about the benefits of building with simulated stone.

Affordable Alternative to Natural Stone

What are the advantages of simulated stone?
Michael Grace, president of Wintergreen Ltd. points out that
it costs 50 per cent less than natural stone, partly because it's easier to install. With natural stone the mason has to chisel the stones precisely so they fit together. Furthermore, the stone can be produced in virtually any colour you find on a painter's palette.

In addition to its cost advantages, simulated stone offers the same charming, handcrafted appearance of natural stonework while maintaining extreme physical durability.  Its genuine replication of natural stone on existing buildings makes it an ideal material for the remodeling or restoration
of old structures.

Rob Rosenblatt, president of Haddington Homes, which builds both custom and subdivision homes, has used Grace's line of stones for years;
"One of the nice things about reconstructed stone is that you know what you're getting,"
Rosenblatt says. "It's consistent, which is not always the case with natural stone where the colour patterns may vary depending on the quarry."
