Cork is an eminently renewable resource harvested from the living bark of the Cork Oak. The properties of cork are derived naturally from the structure and chemical composition of the inner cells. Each cubic centimeter of cork’s honeycomb structure contains between 30 and 40 million polyhedral (14 sided) cells (over 100 million cells per cubic inch). Cork is harvested in a steady cycle that promotes healthy growth to the tree over its expected lifespan of over 200 years. Though the Cork Oak "Quercus suber" can flourish in many climates, the conditions that favor commercial use lie in a fairly narrow swath that cuts through Western Europe and Northern Africa along the Mediterranean coast.

Other scrap membrane is utilized by our marketing department for use as promotional product samples. Noble Company also manufactures ready-to-tile shower accessories, such as Niches, Benches and Curbs, that are made from polystyrene. 100% of the scrap material from the manufacturing process of these products is repurposed or recycled and returned to our local supplier. As one of the leading online distributors of teak furniture in North America, Westminster Teak recognizes the influence it plays on the industry and the impact it has on the environment specifically in regard to forest conservation and management. Westminster Teak has made their company’s policy to source their teak wood from well managed, credibly certified forests. Their factory was the first to join Nusa Hijau, the Indonesian Chapter of the Global Forest Trade Network (GFTN), an initiative of WWF®(World Wildlife Fund) to eliminate illegal logging and improve the management of valuable and threatened forests. They purchase wood only from Perum Perhutani, the government-managed plantation that promotes biodiversity and the livelihoods of the people that depend on them. And, because it is the only source in their supply chain for wood base material, they have 100% transparency; they know exactly where all their lumber comes from for every component of their furniture; from the forest-floor to retail floor.
Zeager continues its good environmental practices by supplying a 100% recycled foam drainage product to the greenroof industry . Zeager's involvement started when they were approached by a leading greenroof designer - Roofscapes Inc. about their drainage product called Duradrain® which they had used as a drainage base for their various playground surfacing systems. Roofscapes incorporated this drainage product into their Roofrug® system as a drainage media and to promote root growth. Since then, there has been much excitement about this affordable system since it is excellent for retrofit situations requiring little or no structural enhancements.
