Ametco powder coating process is solvent free. The powder is formulated using finley ground pigments and resins with zero solvents resulting in a clean air finish and next to zero VOCs. The electrostatic powder to substrate process equates to very little overspray, of which 98% can be retrieved and reused. This would qualify for LEED points only if it is used indoors. Ametco is continuing to work on improving their product line. These changes may increase the LEED points your project can earn.

Forms+Surfaces are active participants in green building councils worldwide and current members of the U.S. Green Building Council, Emirates Green Building Council and Green Building Alliance. Lead by a sustainability team that stays up-to-date on evolving International building standards, their involvement will continue to grow as needs arise and new opportunities for staying at the forefront of environmental stewardship are identified. Recycling programs have been implemented in all of Forms+Surfaces facilities, maximizing landfill diversion. Additionally, over ninety percent of their site furniture product lines are now manufactured with FSC certified wood as the standard. This certification serves as a guarantee that the wood has been harvested in an environmentally and socially sustainable way. Forms+Surfaces goal is to convert all site products to FSC certified wood as the standard by the end of 2009.

With their roots in the landscape and a stated purpose to “Enrich Outdoor Spaces,” Landscape Forms has a special relationship to the natural environment. By employing recycled materials and wood from managed forests (including wood with FSC Chain of Custody Certification upon request), adopting environmentally sustainable processes, producing products that are also recyclable, and implementing energy efficient systems and the use of “green” products in their facility, Lanscape Forms Inc. meets their customers’ expectation for high-design, high-quality products that also help them meet their sustainable goals.

Mapes glazing and extruded aluminum products can perform at higher levels beyond the scope of the standards in the LEED rating system. In such cases, project teams have several options when specifying Mapes high performance architectural systems, including a request for a Credit Interpretation Ruling (CIR) from the USGBC Technical and Scientific Advisory Committee. Another strategy is to document the exemplary performance of Mapes assemblies from a whole building design perspective in the LEED Innovation in Design credit category.

As one of the leading online distributors of teak furniture in North America, Westminster Teak recognizes the influence it plays on the industry and the impact it has on the environment specifically in regard to forest conservation and management. Westminster Teak has made their company’s policy to source their teak wood from well managed, credibly certified forests. Their factory was the first to join Nusa Hijau, the Indonesian Chapter of the Global Forest Trade Network (GFTN), an initiative of WWF®(World Wildlife Fund) to eliminate illegal logging and improve the management of valuable and threatened forests. They purchase wood only from Perum Perhutani, the government-managed plantation that promotes biodiversity and the livelihoods of the people that depend on them. And, because it is the only source in their supply chain for wood base material, they have 100% transparency; they know exactly where all their lumber comes from for every component of their furniture; from the forest-floor to retail floor.
