Safa Park, Dubai
Project Year
2013

In the center of the burgeoning cosmopolitan metropolis of Dubai, and within sight of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world lies Safa Park. Created in 1975, Safa Park has been a destination for residents with its 64 hectares (158 acres) of park land including three lakes, over 200 species of birds, and more than 16,000 trees and shrubs. Today it attracts many tourists as well.

Neglected Water Noticed
In January of 2013, Dubai Municipality entrusted the AquaMaster® Distributor, Nucleus Engineering Solutions, to take on the water management of Fountain Lake in Safa Park. The water quality had deteriorated with heavy sludge buildup over a period of many years resulting in excess algae growth and an accompanying bad odor. The stagnant water was also conducive to mosquito larva hatchings.

Safa Park is Restored
To return Fountain Lake to a healthy condition and control mosquito populations, Nucleus Engineering Services installed three Aqua Air 6s and one 3.5 HP Volcano II with lights. The installation took a crew of four, two days to install the aerators and energize the components. When installation was complete, the AquaMaster® aerators began working around the clock. In just a short time, the odor has almost disappeared as has the algae. The water has returned to a healthy state with a large reduction in mosquitos.

AquaMaster® is proud to be part of healthy water management world-wide.
