LaCantina proudly supports the ABC (Affordable, Buildable, Certifiable) Green Home 3.0 project which promotes sustainable and high-performance homebuilding design, technology, and construction. In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, more than 100 design consultants and product manufacturers donated their resources for this pro bono project to help a Veteran family.

Designed by Danielian Associates Architecture + Planning, this mid-century modern, Eichler-inspired design is meant to serve as a learning tool to meet California’s upcoming 2020 “Net Zero Energy” mandate. The home must produce more energy than it consumes meaning high performance and energy efficiency is top of mind in design.

LaCantina donated its most energy efficient Contemporary Clad Folding System, opening up the kitchen and living area to the large outside patio designed for outdoor living, family gatherings and barbecues. The benefits of increased natural daylight and optimal thermal performance in LaCantina’s open space product lent itself beautifully to the project mission.

The ABC Green Home 3.0, one of the first sustainable homes of its kind will be provided to a deserving disabled veteran who has served 5 tours and his family.
