THE SHIELD® holds a DOS K12 (L3) /ASTM F2656 M50-P1, a DOS K8 (L3) /ASTM F2656 M40-P1, and a DOS K4 (L3)/ASTM F2656 M30-P1 Crash rating. Our K4 DOS/ASTM F2656 M30/P1 is also available in a SHALLOW FOUNDATION (SF) option for sites that are in a high water table or have underground utilities that do not permit deeper foundation excavation.Effective February 1, 2009, the United States Department of State (DOS) will no longer be certifying anti-ram barriers under its current anti-ram barrier standard, STD-02.01 Revision A dated March 2003. Beginning February 1, 2009, DOS will evaluate only new anti-ram barriers tested under ASTM F2656-07 Standard Test Method for Vehicle Crash Testing of Perimeter Barriers for the selection and approval for use at DOS facilities. The only barriers considered will be those with an ASTM F2656-07 rating of M30 P1, M40 P1, and M50 P1.
