Tree Grates: Embedment Frames
Iron Age Design’s frames are all made-to-order and can accommodate many types of installation scenarios. The most common mounting style is “embedment” (E-Frames), which has rebar attached for installation in new concrete. Made from steel angle bar, these frames provide a rigid bearing surface for the grate to sit on that will not fatigue over time like a raw concrete edge would. They also provide a fastening point for the grate(s), and keep them from directly touching surrounding surfaces, mitigating any possible rust staining.
