Victorian Jardiniere (A710) On Upper Plinth (A720) & Lower Plinth (A730)
The cast stone Victorian Jardinière is a traditional Victorian style garden planter from Haddonstone. This imposing Victorian Jardiniere is an elegant example of the nineteenth century naturalistic style of ornament. The intriguing combination of basketwork and dragon’s feet is characteristic of the naturalistic style and popular with horticultural enthusiasts.
Haddonstone’s design was inspired by an Austin & Seeley garden planter. Austin & Seeley were renowned for high quality garden ornaments, including garden planters, in the mid nineteenth century.
The Royal Horticultural Society has used Haddonstone’s Victorian Jardinières to enhance the canal area at the acclaimed RHS Wisley garden.
