City of Los Angeles teams with ANP Lighting for Historic 1st Street Bridge Renovation
The historic 1st Street Bridge over the Los Angeles River is one of the City’s most recognized historic-cultural monuments. When the bridge was renovated, the designers recreated light fixtures resembling those used in 1929 to maintain its historical value.
The City of Los Angeles then looked to ANP Lighting to fabricate the custom period lantern and large scale bracketed arm. Designers provided their design and our engineering team and in-house foundry developed a custom re-creation of the distinctive lantern and post mount arm to match the historic architecture of the bridge. During fabrication, representatives of the Los Angeles City Historical Society visited our facility to verify the look and authenticity of the units. The heavy duty cast aluminum luminaire works seamlessly with the massive bracketed arm, as well as a pendant mount. The custom luminaire has Type V optics, white acrylic lens, and tool-less entry.
The committed partnership between the City of Los Angeles and our custom manufacturing and engineering departments made this fixture and mount both an aesthetic and performance fit for this monumental project.
