The Cabot Public Library building was originally built as a grocery store in 1978. Under the direction of Schelle-Architect the buildingwas completely renovated. With substrate issues,glue-less flooring was the logical flooring choice for the building and cork provided the desired aesthetic.
Over 16,000 sf of Eco-Clicks Cork Rugged and Chestnut were installed in the library which opened in 2016.
Eco-Clicks floating floors require expansion joints for areas over 1600 square feet or lengths over 40 linear feet. Schelle – Architect and the installer worked methodically to place the expansion joints so the floor could “float” as intended even with the weight of the book shelves.
With a variety of activities on a daily basis, the library has hundreds of people walk on the cork floor every day. By following the published maintenance instructions, the library has found the Eco-Clicks Cork easy to maintain.
Eco-Clicks Cork is a glue-less interlocking flooring system that combines the unique appearance of cork with a high density fiberboard (HDF) core and a cork backing. Eco-Clicks Cork is protected with a high performance water-based finish that has excellent resistance to wear, impact damage and scratching.
The Eco-Clicks locking mechanism is impregnated with a proprietary sealant that protects the locking mechanism from damage, topical liquids and moisture.
Suitable for many commercial areas, Eco-Clicks Cork can be installed on, below or above grade over numerous substrates.
Coordinating flooring accessories including t-moldings, reducers and stair nosing are available for all Eco-Clicks Cork colors/patterns.
