AMDG Architects, partnering with Eastlake Studio, was given a challenging project to redesign an existing building on a tight schedule for a client. Meeting the owner’s vision for the executive floors and suites required an innovative door hardware solution. The door requirements called for a clean, modern look combined with strong acoustical performance. The concept required the wood doors to be flush with the face of the jambs so that the entry to each room reads as one large wood panel. Pivot hinges and butt hinges were eliminated for acoustical and aesthetic reasons. The requirement for an invisible hardware solution was the natural path and adjustable, self-closing concealed hinges would be the best answer. D&D Technologies’ SureClose ConcealFit door closer and hinge system met all the requirements, installed easily and provided a clean openings for an elegant, distinctive and timeless look.
