Tobin Estates required a customized fireplace design that could fit into the architect’s 40” deep footprint, which exceeded the largest standard offering of 28” deep. The design team created a detailed drawing that provided all framing requirements for the fireplace and venting run. 

The structural beam located above the fireplace presented a challenge for venting, which had to be offset but still exit the building in the original plane from the flue start. Due to the large volume opening, the use of mechanical venting was necessary to ensure proper draft.
