King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
St. Simons Island, Georgia

Project Details

St. Simons Island, Georgia

The Property: This historic ocean front resort on St Simons Island, Georgia features 192 guest rooms in a variety of buildings, including two and three bedroom villas and resort residences.

In 1935, The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort opened as a private dance club at the ocean’s edge on St. Simons Island in Georgia’s Golden Isles. The name “King and Prince” was coined by friends of the original owners, who felt it captured the property’s regal atmosphere.

Situation: The resort’s Chief Engineer, a former golf course superintendent, found it to be a continual battle to maintain Bermuda grass on the property, especially in high traffic areas.
Artificial grass was a logical choice.
