HAWAIIAN SUN AND TROPICAL RAINS OPERATE THIS RESTROOM

Lanai Resort, LLC owns and operates the two 5-star Four Season Resorts on the Hawaiian Island of Lanai. They needed a restroom for a remote location. The islands of Hawaii have volcanic soils and lava bedrock and are not suitable for septic systems in many locations. For this reason, they ordered a Green Flush self-contained flush restroom that could operate without them.

Green Flush’s partner factory in Oregon built an ‘Aspen’ single cabin restroom for them. The restroom and its precast concrete vault were shipped via barge to the Island of Lanai.

This Aspen is fully self-contained. It has 12VDC and 120VAC solar power. Tropical rain is collected from the roof and stored in a precast concrete vault beneath the restroom, providing flush water for the flush toilet. Another section of this vault is partitioned to hold the wastewater from the sink, toilet, and urinal.

Functional features include:
- Flush toilet
- Hand wash sink
- Urinal
- Lights
- Hot water
- Fluid level indicators for the cistern and waste water chambers

One of the design requirements by Lanai Resorts was that the restroom could be relocatable. Both the vault and the restroom are designed to accommodate later movement to a different location.

This customer chose wood look ceramic tile for the interior walls and floor to give it an opulent interior.
