Keene Building Products is proud that Easy-Fur™ was selected for the Midway Village development project which began construction in 2021 and included 147 affordable apartments for families and transition-aged youth in City of Daly City, California (City) in San Mateo County. The purpose of this project is to get as many people off the streets as possible and has a goal to enact educational programs as well as after school and summer camps for kids. The builder and architect for this project were Devon Construction and David Baker Architects. The developer for the project, MidPen Housing, is one of the largest, most trusted non-profit developers, owners, and managers of high-quality affordable housing in Northern California. The project product in question, Easy-Fur™ is an entangled polymer net furring strip that creates a cutting edge rainscreen and venting system behind wood and fiber-cement siding. The unique design of the product gives way to the fastest installation furring strip product on the market, attributed to the fact that the product can be rolled on to the wall and easily cut to length.

Easy-Fur™ can be applied to wood siding, metal siding, fiber cement board siding, or other roofing and wall applications. The product passes multiple wall assemblies that require NFPA 285. Installation is easy, the product is lightweight and easy to carry, and even just scissors can be used for cutting. Easy-Fur™ promotes airflow and drainage, meets most local codes, will not split, warp, or rot, and provides no source for the promotion of mold, mildew, or bacteria.
