The Residences at Five Points, a luxury rental community, was constructed in 2010 in Valdosta, Georgia. The gated community has 264 units and offers one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. They units feature private patios or balconies, gourmet kitchens, and 9-foot ceilings. Outside amenities include a resort-style pool, a volleyball court, a fenced pet park, and a clubhouse which has 23 solar panels on the roof that provide over 50 percent of the clubhouse’s energy. The community has been a great addition to the city of Valdosta.

MOISTURE PROTECTION SOLUTION: DRIWALL RAINSCREEN 020-1

The architectural firm that specified Keene’s Driwall™ Rainscreen on the project was looking at preventing moisture damage in the exterior walls. Approximately 75,000 square feet of Driwall™ Rainscreen 020-1 was installed underneath the combination of manufactured stone and siding veneers. Any incidental moisture that infiltrates the wall system will drain out of the wall. Ventilation of the open airspace will dry out the sheathing and the cladding to prevent moisture damage.

The Residences at Five Points marks the 123rd project that the developers developed in the 15 years that they have been in business. When constructing this luxury community, it was crucial for them to integrate a drainage and ventilation system to ensure the integrity and longevity the development. After the successful completion of The Residences of Five Points, the company plans of beginning six more projects throughout the Southeast.
