Natura

Millstone at Noblesville

Project Details

The Challenge

The dog park at Millstone was constantly worn and thus, not appealing to their residents. The landscape bills were high each spring, only to have the park worn again by summer.

The Approach

Quakescape Landscaping sought out Natura as a solution that would fix the heavily trafficked dog park once and for all. The solution was approved by the management company and Natura was installed in early May across the dog park. The wear was most pronounced just inside the gate as well as around the permanent structures. The Landscape crew took the time to till the ground first to reduce the impaction of the ground in the most worn areas and then took a little time to level the ground before installing the 6' wide rolls of Natura. Natura was installed quickly and they began watering the park immediately—without concern of dogs having muddy paws.

Results

Grass was already growing through the hybrid turf within 2 months, as seen in the photo. Grass will continue to grow through over time. In the heavily trafficked areas where new grass is sheared off by the paws, Natura still remains as a protective layer above the ground so there is a fully-green dog park without any muddy ruts. Quakescape Landscaping continues to recommend and install Natura at other Birge & Held properties in the area, with more budgeted for the coming year.

After may years of frustration by us and the property managers we finally found an affordable solution to maintain a beautiful dog park for our clients. Tony - Quakescape Landscaping Owner
