The new iPic Project in West Los Angeles, California required a motorized outdoor retractable patio canopy system with vertical curtains to complement the motif of the four-level theater, shopping areas, restaurant, and parking facilities.

The LA Department of Building & Safety (LADBS) required all steel welding and fabrication to be performed by licensed fabricators ONLY. Eide Industries, Inc. (a licensed LA Steel Fabricator) had designed and fabricated the steel canopy frame to support and conceal the motorized track mechanisms and electrical work for the Corradi Systems while meeting 90MPH Wind Loads (Exposure “B”) requirements. Eide also had to coordinate the installation to work simultaneously with other sub-contracted disciplines to meet the overall project completion date.

In March 2014, Eide successfully completed its project phase which included, but not limited to, the design, fabrication, pouring concrete footings, and installation of the steel frame, and Corradi Retractable Covers and Vertical Screens on schedule to allow the remaining project construction to continue flawlessly to meet the upcoming opening date.
