Frontier Park is a large park with numerous features for visitors of all ages and interests. With a playground, a picnic shelter, basketball courts, softball fields, bocce ball areas, a skateboarding facility, a pond, multi-purpose fields, and walking trails, any guest can visit the park for an activity of their interest.

The 95th Street Community Plaza splash pad, restroom, and shower building by Romtec is a custom community building to suit the many needs of the surrounding schools and neighborhoods. Located in Naperville, Illinois, the multi-purpose building was purchased by the Naperville Park District, and is the newest addition to the Frontier Park and the Frontier Sports Complex.

The park and sports complex is adjacent to schools and residential neighborhoods, and the recent addition of the 95th Street Community Plaza is to “encourage nearby students and residents of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, communicate and socialize with one another, and enjoy the many benefits of active and passive recreation in a beautiful campus setting” (Huard, 2021).

The 95th street Community Plaza includes a performance pavilion, a playground, and a splash pad. In order to be a working facet of the community, facilities needed to be provided at this site that could service both the guests and the splash pad. To meet these needs, the Romtec supplied building includes Men’s and Women’s restroom and shower facilities, for the splash pad, two family restrooms, a mechanical room with a chemical storage room, an electrical and security room, and a storage room with water heaters for the facilities.

This project was brought to Romtec by the Hitchcock Design Group for the Naperville Park District, and was constructed by Clauss Brothers, Inc whose work has provided families and youth with further opportunities to get outside and get involved in their community.
