A multi-million makeover of both the internal and outdoor premises of the 25th floor penthouse apartment of the prestigious Las Olas Beach Club residence in Fort Lauderdale, provided Roofingreen® with the first opportunity to make an impact in Florida.

Working in close collaboration with project lead design firm Interiors by Steven G., general contractor Newman Construction and Roofingreen’s installation partner Topgreen, LEAF panels were installed as a floating surface directly on top of the existing stone floor. The total turf surface of 1,000 square feet is divided into four parts, including the pool area and the main sun deck with unlimited views over the coastline and ocean. LED spotlights were integrated in the turf surface creating scenic floor lighting.

With a private elevator going right up to the top floor, having the panels packed in easy-to-handle cardboard boxes made the logistics of the installation process much faster and cost efficient. Standard turf in rolls would have had to be hoisted up to the roof by crane or walking up the stairs.

Completed in early 2022, nine months after project completion the installation had to face the fury of Hurricane Ian that hit Fort Lauderdale with wind speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. The day after, Topgreen went back to check for any damage. The turf was still perfectly in place, confirming the resistance of the Roofingreen® system in extreme weather conditions.
