Titus Surfacing

Hillside Park
Newark, Delaware

Project Details

Location
Newark, Delaware

What do you do with an old college dormitory that is in need of some rehab? You tear it down and build a park of course! This 7 acre site in Newark, Delaware used to house a University of Delaware dormitory facility before it was demolished for the new Hillside Park. The Hillside Park includes 2 playgrounds, quarter mile walking trail surrounding the storm water management pond, an observation deck over the pond, and some other custom park amenities.

The new park includes a natural play area featuring a large custom spider web playground net and natural robinia wood playground equipment with our TitusEWF surfacing. The TitusEWF was used in the natural playground area featuring custom robinia wood playground equipment to enhance the natural play theme.

The main play area is shaped like a leaf, and the TitusTPV is adorned with insects inlayed within the TitusTPV. It also includes a 8’ tall hill with a dual slide and climbing net for the children to play on. There was a special area built within the main play area which included ADA accessible playground equipment features which helped make the decision easy to go with TItusTPV to enhance the ADA Accessibility. Did you know that TitusTPV can be installed on slopes and mounds? It is one of the main reasons Landscape Architects choose TitusTPV on playgrounds with mounds, hills, and other topographic features. Do you want to add some custom inlays of insects, animals, flags, logos, or anything else? Please contact us today if you need help with your project!
