Brock team members met the RHIT soccer coaches at the United Soccer Coaches convention in Baltimore in January 2020. Their football program had installed turf two years earlier in the stadium using rubber infill. The soccer coaches did not want rubber on their field due to the excessive heat, infill splash and concern for safety. They were particularly concerned about their goalkeepers who would be spending the most time in contact with the surface. The more cost effective BrockFILL allowed them to expand their turf area by nearly 20,000 SF. Now they have one of the most coveted college soccer facilities in the country and one of the most unique layouts where their turf field (BrockFILL) is adjacent to their natural grass field which is adjacent to the football field (rubber infill), giving athletes the perfect “taste test” to compare surfaces.
