The Arbour Path at The Mill in Petrie, Queensland, seamlessly integrates the area’s industrial heritage with its natural landscape. Street + Garden, in collaboration with Archipelago, selected and customized a suite of street furniture that honours the site’s history while addressing modern needs.

The design of The Arbour Path centers on creating a comfortable and engaging walkway that connects two major site anchors: the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and the Petrie Train Station. A key feature is the sculptural, covered walkway with alternating scales and forms, designed to encourage active use and connect the spaces effectively. LED downlights were subtly integrated into the apex of the arbour structures, enhancing both the visual appeal and safety by illuminating the linear pathway and creating a welcoming ambiance during evening hours.

Street + Garden’s Flight Backed and Backless Benches were thoughtfully placed along The Arbour Path to support recreational use and strengthen the connection between key areas of the site. These benches provide not only functional seating but also contribute to the inviting and vibrant atmosphere of the green space, making it a welcoming environment for students and the local community alike.
