Cincinnati Zoo and Botanic Garden
Cincinnati, OH

Project Details

Location
Cincinnati, OH

The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanic Garden welcomes both people and pollinators to explore its beautiful plantings. These beds are as functional as they are attractive, and withstand over 1.7 million visitors each year. They also make the property appealing to the animals that live there.

As part of its mission to educate and inform the public, the Garden manages the Plant for Pollinators Challenge, a public engagement campaign to increase pollinator habit in the Greater Cincinnati region. This welcoming entrance garden demonstrates to the public how pollinator friendly plants can be incorporated into a landscape.

Plantings throughout the zoo invite guests to enjoy the park’s features while keeping them from walking where they shouldn’t. They create a sense of adventure as visitors learn about animals and their habitats. The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanic Garden successfully combines aesthetics with function as it inspires guest to interact with the natural world.
