Walter Henry Park, named after an acclaimed boxer who emigrated to Orillia in 1957 from Northern Ireland. ‘A National Athletic Hero’ he has been called.
Scope of work:
Safescapes and Pine Valley Corp were selected to install 3100 square feet of our SafeTop™ PIP Rubber Safety Surfacing. This park is part of a new development in the city with many added features around the park. The rubber playground area was in conjunction with Earthscape Landscaping.
The install:
This was a two day installation to meet deadline restrictions from the city. We had a maple syrup spill design on this playground where the maple syrup was mounded up for kids to play on. Pouring impact layer with the play mounds requires extra attention to detail. The top layer was completed on the second day, racing the weather to make sure the pour was finished on time.
The result:
This new division of Orillia was left with a fantastic new community park. The team at Pine Valley did an excellent job piecing together multi activity spaces in a unique design. While preserving the woodlot on the property.
