Outdoor Fitness Equipment In Los Angeles: After a full renovation of their indoor gym, the team at CalArts turned to Zoom Recreation to help with building an outdoor fitness center in Santa Clarita, California.

The Challenge

The existing space was a sand volleyball court from the 70s that nobody made use of at the college. Our challenge was to create a valuable space where the art students could get aerobic, balance, and core strength training while taking in the natural beauty of their hillside property.

Our Solution

The new outdoor fitness area included a mix of modern equipment with Champagne Silver tones, a True Blue sun cover, and Blue heat resistant flooring. The low to no maintenance space features 9 fitness stations, a 50' triangular sail shade, and pour-in-place rubber safety surfacing. The combination of unique fitness equipment, a practical shade solution, and safety surfacing fulfilled the client's goal to provide an impressive, accessible outdoor fitness area for the CalArts college students.
