For this project in Los Angeles, the Zoom team was asked to design and manufacture Space Theme playground equipment to accompany Monterey Park's iconic on-site observatory.

The Challenge

Manufacturing this commercial playground equipment was a challenge in itself because it was the first-of-its-kind. The Zoom team also had to ensure the design would fit in the existing site conditions seamlessly.

To successfully design, manufacture, and install the equipment, attention to detail was essential. From the field measurements to the packing department, our team proudly created a unique playground for the future astronauts of Monterey Park

Rocket Steel Playground Equipment

This steel playground structure was designed with a Rocket Theme built for the 5-12 age group. The design featured a mix of slides, climbers, space-themed sensory panels and playground shade structures.

Space Theme Playground Equipment

This second playground structure is made out of recyclable material and is built for children 2-12 years old. The design featured a Moon Buggy Spring Rider, an Accessible Space Shuttle, and Activity Wall.

Inclusive Play Equipment

The park was completed with and Inclusive Orbit Spinner and Team Swing to create a cohesive play area that was designed with children of all accessibilities and ages in mind.
