Some neighborhoods call for a little extra polish, and Uptown Newport is one of them. This project takes Public Restroom Company's Playground Series PS-022 model and gives it a custom upgrade, blending durability with a design that fits right into its upscale surroundings.
A shed-style roof sets the tone, paired with a thoughtful mix of wood paneling, painted stucco siding, and wood trim that gives the building a warm, contemporary look. Even small details were considered with care: the utility chase door was relocated to the back of the building, keeping it out of sight from park users while preserving easy access for maintenance crews.
Underneath the custom finishes, this restroom delivers the same reliable performance the PS-022 is known for. Two single-occupant, concrete block restrooms offer a flush toilet and sink each, accommodating up to 90 users per hour. The facility is fully ADA compliant and equipped with proprietary vandal-resistant components for lasting durability in a public setting.
One standout feature is the passive ventilation system, with wire mesh vent screens placed above each door and along the sides of the building. These screens do more than improve airflow and reduce odors, they also add a layer of security, allowing sound to travel in the event someone needs to call for help.
Inside, the restroom stays true to form with water-resistant concrete flooring and concrete block walls, making cleaning and upkeep simple.
Uptown Newport is a great example of how Public Restroom Company can take a proven, functional design and reimagine it to match the character of its community, without compromising on safety, durability, or ease of maintenance.
