When considering using a permanent bollard, the material being used becomes a more important consideration. Particularly in areas where the parking bollards may be exposed to de-icing agents or a corrosive marine environment.  Once fixed bollards are set in place, they become expensive to remove and replace in the event they deteriorate. A removable bollard on the other hand can be removed and maintained regularly or easily replaced without the cost and trouble of disturbing the foundation. Further, the look of a stainless steel bollard is often preferred.  For these reasons the TrafficGuard® stainless steel embedded series is ideal for many applications.Beyond material, placement of a fixed bollard is also something that needs to be considered. In areas where there will be significant application of de-icing chemicals or any other corrosive agent, a removable unit may be a better option. Finally, access must be considered. If some vehicle access will be required to a given area, a removable bollard should be considered for use in conjunction with embedded bollards.
